Ismail Sabri’s hotsoup

Regarding my boycott call to Malays against Chinese traders, I was responding Facebook users who are angry at stubborn Chinese traders who don't want to cut prices. The principle is the same, that is those in the majority should use their majority power and stop complaining on Facebook.

Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Agriculture and Agro-based Minister, clarifying his call for Malay consumers to boycott Chinese traders in order to bring prices down

His (Ismail Sabri) statement is racist, totally violates the spirit of the constitution, the national practice of moderation as well as the multiracial spirit of the BN government. (It) does not represent the cabinet and the BN…he does not qualify to be a minister.

Chong Sin Won, MCA Youth chief

The MCA Youth chief should thank me for using the Malay majority voice to pressure Chinese traders to cut prices, because most Chinese are consumers who are also strained by high prices… By right, the MCA Youth chief must appeal to Chinese consumers to use their voice to pressure these traders but he does not know his priorities and who he should protect.

Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Agriculture and Agro-based Minister, responding Chong’s statement above

The police will ensure that racial harmony is respected.

Khalid Abu Bakar, Inspector General of Police, announcing that Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob will be called in for questioning over his inflammatory Facebook post

Pakatan Rakyat’s meeting

I will meet with Anwar in one or two days to discuss this and the secretariat has been informed of it. I will explain to him what is happening in PAS and this will pave the way for a Pakatan leadership meeting.

Mustafa Ali, PAS secretary general, expressing confidence that a Pakatan Rakyat leadership council meeting will convene ahead of the Federal Court's verdict on Anwar Ibrahim's second sodomy case on February 10

Anwar Ibrahim’s second sodomy case

I pray that he (Anwar) will be released. As partners in PR, we never discussed about any replacement. We are sure that he will be free.

Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, PAS vice president

90 days apology

At first it was for a year, then it was discounted to six months, and then three months. It is illogical and does not make sense. Where are there any laws providing for an apology for three months? Which law is he using? In our country, the longest was only three days.

Abdul Razak md Hassan, Railwaymen's Union of Malaya (RUM) president, accusing Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) president Elias Kadir of abusing his power by demanding the former apologise to him daily for three months
