Kidex - Horses’ Mouths – 17 February 2015

Bye-bye Kidex

Since neither of the conditions have been fulfilled by Kidex, thus the Selangor government is now announcing the cancellation of this project. This approach will also be taken when considering approvals of other proposed highways involving Selangor.

Azmin Ali, Selangor MB, announcing the cancellation of Kinrara-Damansara Expressway (Kidex) project after the concessionaire for the Kidex project - Kidex Sdn Bhd - had failed to fulfil three conditions set by the state government to provide an independent traffic impact assessment, social impact assessment and environmental impact assessment

We will have to consult the Federal government first about this.

Mohd Nor Idrus, Kidex Sdn Bhd chief operating officer

What cabut?

Whenever I feel it is not fair, I leave or adjourn the hearing to cool off the atmosphere. I 'bukan cabut' (did not flee).

Arifin Zakaria, chief justice

Offering Anwar for DPM?

The prime minister has nothing to gain by giving such a ridiculous offer after the last general election, which we won with a clear majority," he told reporters today. Why (would Najib) want to offer (the) DPM (post) to a loser (in GE13)?

Khairy Janaluddin, Umno Youth chief, on PKR vice president Nurul Izzah’s claim that the party de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim, was offered the post of deputy prime minister in 2013

Maybe it’s true that BN respects Tok Guru Nik Aziz so much, but he contested every election since 1967. If they truly respected him, the would have not contested in the last polls.

Dr Hatta Ramli, PAS election director

Prison’s treatment to Anwar

At the very minimum, in line with his medical condition, he must be given a bed and a medically appropriate mattress, a chair and table, a shower and appropriate toilet. Anwar cannot bend over or stand up from sitting on the floor without pain and aggravation of his condition.

Latheefa Koya and N Surendran, PKR layers

Not Umno to rule

I would like to vehemently deny that there was any agreement to allow Barisan to run the MIC in total as purported by the misleading statement of Barisan secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor. As one of the leaders of MIC, I would like to assert that while we might be having a difficult time, we will not compromise on the integrity and dignity of the party.  There was only a discussion on Barisan acting as facilitators in mediating in areas of dispute. There was no proposal for Barisan to run the MIC.

Dr Subramaniam, MIC deputy president
