36-hour water cut?

The information spread via WhatsApp is not true. The state government calls on users not to speculate and spread false information.

Zaidy Abdul Talib, Infrastructure and Public Utilities, Agriculture Modernisation and Agro-Based Industry Committee chairman, denying that a 36-hour water cut will be implemented throughout the state as spread via WhatsApp

Income tax

Previously, payments were made in cash at the counter, the Cash Deposit Machine (CDM) and via Internet banking.

Ahmad Maslan, Deputy Finance Minister, announcing that taxpayers can now use their Visa, MasterCard and American Express credit cards as well as debit cards issued by banking institutions to pay tax

Bernama TV

The Government cannot be seen as using taxpayers' funds to pay a private company which had failed. In this case, Bernama TV is not owned by the Government and is a private entity. Until and unless the issue of ownership is resolved, the Government cannot provide assistance to resolve the financial crisis.

Ahmad Shabery Cheek, Communications and Multimedia Minister, insisting that the government will assist Bernama TV, provided the 'joint venture' company allows national news agency Bernama to take over its shares fully

TG Hadi as PAS president

I cannot see anyone within the rank and file who is capable of matching Abdul Hadi's leadership quality, and I foresee that he will continue to lead the party over the next five years.

Mustafa Ali, PAS secretary general

Nik Aziz’s advice

I know my father and he taught me not by hitting out at Umno or BN. I know my father also did not teach the people by incessantly hitting out at Umno and BN... (My father said): "When a society is knowlegeable they will know why we oppose Umno. We can just say it once and they will understand. To oppose Umno is to impart knowledge, and eventually Umno will be gone".

Nik Abduh Nik Aziz, Pasir Mas MP, answering critics who alleged that he is advocating a unity government between PAS and Umno, unlike his father, the late PAS spiritual leader Nik Aziz Nik Mat, who spoke against it

Pardon for Anwar

As is known, it is subject to legal interpretation but what's more important is that the Pardons Board has not met so of course our decision is also delayed.

Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Home Minister, insisting that a decision must first be made by the Pardons Board on whether opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim can attend the Dewan Rakyat sitting which begins next week

Najib vs Harakahdaily

We are prepared to accept the suit and face the PM in court. This is a good opportunity to question him (Najib) in court.

Hanipa Maidin, PAS legal bureau chief, on Najib Razak’s letter of demand to Harakah over an article regarding 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) and his step-son Reza Aziz
