Please don’t (say) that when Umno expresses support to the enactment (Kelantan Shariah Criminal Enactment), then it is a sign that Umno wants to be with PAS. This is a compulsory matter for Muslims, it is the same in terms of acceptance and those who believe and must be supported.

Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, PAS vice president, hoping Pakatan Rakyat’s component party would use hudud as an issue to tear up the coalition

The DAP and PKR representatives at the meeting strongly objected and explained that this was not an amendment to the current enactment, but a whole new bill entirely.

Anthony Loke, DAP national secretary, pressuring PAS to drop its plan to table its revised hudud enactment this week

To me, it’s an amendment. So it should not be an issue in DAP or PKR. It should not be seen as a contradictory action against the Pakatan Rakyat agreement. It is not a new enactment, so it should not be challenged.

Khalid Samad, Shah Alam MP

Enough of it...let the Auditor-General carry out his job and hand over the findings to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) for scrutiny before announcing the outcome. We leave it to those who are truly qualified and have the integrity. Let the PAC announce the outcome of the audit report without fear or favour.

Mohamad Hasan, Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar, calling on everyone to stop making slanderous remarks on 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB)

We will do our best to file an injunction against EPF, or any other bodies, if there is an IPO, so that public funds will not be used to subscribe to the 1MDB IPO.

Rafizi Ramli, PKR secretary general, vowing to push for a court injunction if the government attempts to get state agencies to subscribe to 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB)'s initial public offering (IPO) for its energy arm

Poor performance by students

What has become an issue for us is why  our students' performance still isn't as good as those in developed nations, despite huge funds pumped into the education sector.

Muhyiddin Yassin, Deputy Prime Minister, expressing concern over the fact that Malaysian students do not perform as well as those in developed countries

Always ensure that we never forget our main responsibility, which is to ensure that Umno continue to be in power to lead and fight for the rights of the people who are always in our hearts.

Najib Razak, Umno President, reminding its members to stop bickering or else the party will fall in the next general election
