Dr M’s wrath against Najib

On love

We cannot love someone to the point that when they kill someone, we say 'ok la'. This has nothing to do with anything. I'm only giving an example.

Dr Mahathir Mohamad

On 1MDB’s missing billions

I wouldn't do anything to destroy (Razak's) son; that is not how you repay debts.
But as time goes by, I see the money disappearing [...] I think that this cannot be, if it's RM1 million, tak apa lah (never mind), but this is RM42 billion!

Dr Mahathir Mohamad, saying his indebtedness to former premier Abdul Razak Hussein will not blind him to any wrongdoing which may have been committed by Prime Minister Najib Razak on 1MDB

On wedding of the century

This isn't the wedding of the year but the wedding of the century. But when they went to Kazakhstan with 300 people, it wasn't reported by mainstream media. Who are these 300 people?

Dr Mahathir Mohamad, commenting on the extravagance of the wedding of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's daughter, calling it the "wedding of the century"

I think it should just be abolished.

Dr Mahathir Mohamad

On problems faced by country

Sometimes I feel sad [...] the wrong things are done and I can't fix it. That is why I feel I should have stayed as prime minister.

Dr Mahathir Mohamad

We are fully prepared and the rules are already there, now (we are)just waiting for the green light. PAS president (Abdul Hadi Awang) has submitted a notice to table the private bill in the Parliament, but too many other bills need to be tabled, we will make every effort to implement the law.

Ahmad Yaakob, Kelantan Menteri Besar, stressing that his state government is ready to implement hudud law in the state

Permatang Pauh by-election

We cannot lose in Permatang Pauh. Just like BN. They cannot lose or have a lower majority in Rompin, Pahang.

Lim Guan Eng, Penang chief minister, warning of Pakatan Rakyat's demise should PKR lose the Permatang Pauh parliamentary seat on polling day

Let's campaign as decently and democratically as possible.

Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Home Minister, stressing that there will not be videos of personal attacks against Permatang Pauh by-election candidates

Ahmad Maslan on Dr M’s attack on GST

It is clear that GST is lower than SST. How can he say that it would be better if the government abolished GST?

Ahmad Maslan, Deputy Finance Minister, claiming Dr Mahathir Mohamad was against the Goods and Services Tax (GST) because he does not understand how it works
