PAS President’s policy speech
On Pakatan Rakyat
As we have said time and again, PAS practices political cooperation with Pakatan on matters that were mutually agreed on, such as fighting oppression, corruption, and leakages; transparent governance, [...] as long as it does not conflict with the Quran and Sunnah.
On PAS principles
AS rejects those who will not give way to the implementation of Islam, or whose Islam is not steadfast on the concept of being fair to all. PAS also rejects those who dream of getting revenge on those who are perceived as foes because the Prophet Muhammad taught us (Muslims) to be the saviour of all mankind.
On different groups
The professionals are an important force in the party, just as important as the ulama and party activists. In fact, we accept anyone who wants to contribute to Islam's victory. Let there be none among us who are trapped by the ploy by our foes who are trying to split us by hurling slogans about the division between the ulama and the professionals.
On PAS concept
Our concept is clear. In scores of muktamar, that we are the ones moving to make the professionals ulamas, and make the ulamas professionals.
On problems with Lim Kit Siang
Personal matters should be solved privately.
If the same statement and infographic were to be tabled at the PAC hearing on 1MBD, we will reject it.
Tan Seng Giaw, Public Accounts Committee (PAC) deputy chairperson, urging 1MDB to present more concrete evidence as opposed to a simple infographic on how RM48.1 billion of loans were spent
If IPIC pays 4 billion USD to 1MDB, effectively IPIC become owner of the assets of 1MDB. 1MDB actually gets nothing as the money from IPIC will go towards paying the interest and loans of 1MDB to reduce the total loans of RM42 billion to a smaller amount.
Dr Mahathir Mohamad, warning the government was “effectively” selling off the country’s assets gained through 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) if it accepted an opaque US$1 billion (RM3.7 billion) offer by a foreign investment firm in a bid to settle the sovereign company’s debilitating debts
All parties must be fair to Abdul Hadi, because as PAS president, he has used this muktamar to teach PAS members to defend PR via tahaluf siyasi principles, and he has stated this stand of his many times. This shows his commitment as PAS president and it is a good and positive development.
Azmin Ali, PKR deputy president
I will work harder. The blood in me is not any blood. Sometimes I might look very diplomatic. But I have warrior spirit.
