Big war within Umno

There was no discussion on any action involving the disciplinary board. That is why the president, deputy president and vice-presidents are still the same people. Therefore issues of the many speculations that are present out there do not arise. The wisdom of this was carried out by the party president, therefore please stop making negative speculations.

Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Umno vice president, claiming that the sacking of Umno deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was not discussed at the party’s supreme council meeting

I am disappointed. I had pleaded with Datuk Shafie so that we be allowed a chance to speak but we have been told no. From the discussions, there are those who are disallowing it. I do not know why but that is the decision.

Muhyiddin Yassin, Umno deputy president, confirming that he and party vice-president Shafie Apdal would not be allowed to deliver speeches at the assembly

It was good.

Najib Razak, Umno president, on the outcome of the supreme council meeting

With all due respect to Tan Sri Muhyiddin, Datuk Seri Shafie and our father whom we respect, Tun Mahathir, be with us in Umno, right or wrong, be with Umno. There is no other party. Do you want to surrender the Malays and bumiputera to DAP? I am not prepared (to do so). Let blood flow, we won’t allow DAP to take over. Umno is weak, god forbid, our country is taken over by DAP.

Shahrizat Jalil, Wanita Umno chief, urging former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Muhyiddin Yassin and Mohd Shafie Apdal to return to the fold

We have our limits although we hope for unity in the party. But if there are those who refuse to heed the call of unity and continue to act to the detriment of the party, then we have to make tough decisions about their place in Umno.

Khairy Jamaluddin, Umno Youth chief, warning that those who want to destroy party to leave it

Umno Youth's support is for the president, and we also gave due respect in ushering in the deputy president, this means we love our leaders. That is why we accept the explanation of our 'father' in the president's sincere clarification yesterday. And we plead with our 'mother', the deputy president not to 'divorce' and dismantle the house of Umno.

Khairy Jamaluddin, Umno Youth chief, urging Muhyiddin not to divorce Najib

Penang marginalised?

In a recent statement, the Penang Federal Action Council chairperson Zainal Abidin Osman confirmed that the federal government allocated RM5.7 billion to Penang under the 11th Malaysia Plan. In fact, under Budget 2016, a total of RM768 million was allocated to Penang. Yet, Lim continues to say Penang is marginalised and did not get any allocations from the federal government.

Teng Chang Yeow, Penang BN chairperson, telling DAP-led Penang government to stop provoking the emotions of the people to create a feeling of distrust and hatred for the federal government
