DAP caused Mukhriz’s downfall?

Do not forget that we have always been opposed to the policies of Mukhriz's government, including the budget. How can we betray our voters and principles by suddenly supporting him? It (our stance against Umno) will be the same with Ahmad Bashah as menteri besar, so this is Umno's infighting and DAP has no reason to intervene unless a vote of no-confidence is called in the state assembly.

Teoh Boon Kok, DAP's Kota Darul Aman assemblyperson, admitting to taking a neutral stance before the Kedah regency council in the state's menteri besar crisis

Umno has come to the end of the road.

Well done to the government. Malaysia is an open economy, and the TPPA will ensure we can enhance the targeted exports into the larger markets such as the US. Our sovereign rights to implement development policies such as poverty eradication and economic restructuring will not, in any way, be affected. Now, we must prepare ourselves to optimise the benefits of the TPPA.

Rafidah Aziz, former Trade and Industry Minister, claiming that the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA) will benefit several key sectors through better market access and rising investments

Ahmad Bashah

Yes, abah has no high qualifications. No Masters, no PhD, or a diploma, overseas degree, let alone a motivational speaker or professional trainer. That’s because abah had to assume the duties of a father, and take care of his siblings after his father passed away. He sold eggs, durians, drove a lorry, you name it.

Azira Hafiza, Kedah Menteri Besar Ahmad Bashah’s daughter, defending her father against criticisms that he only possessed SRP-level qualifications

He can whisper personally to the PM to help develop Kedah.

Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Deputy Prime Minister, insisting that the newly-minted Kedah Menteri Besar Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah is the best choice as MB as he has a direct line to Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and can expedite the state's development

G25 in turmoil

This is a very loose, informal group of individuals. There's no penghulu (village head) here. It's not even a registered society and people come voluntarily and I suppose if they don't like anyone there, there's nothing they can do.

Tawfik Ismail, the son of the late Tun Dr Ismail Abdul Rahman, claiming he was told to go on a "sabbatical" from G25 after his statements to the press last year left some members of the moderates group unhappy

So far, we have sent almost 300 blood samples to laboratories and we have the capability to conduct tests at major hospitals. We have the laboratories capable of carrying out such tests. So far, there has been no Zika virus infection. We have to be more alert now. Unlike the MERS-Cov which causes high fever of up to 40 degrees Celsius, Zika causes only mild fever which may not be detected by our scanners at the airport.

Dr Hilmi Yahaya, Deputy Health Minister, declaring that there’s no case of Zika virus infection in Malaysia
