Can we win through the votes of PAS members alone? We cannot win with PAS members alone. If possible, we want Umno members to vote for us too. We want non-Muslims to vote for us too.
Tuan Guru Abdul Hadi Awang, PAS President
As you can all see, this is a very strange group of people. There is only one thing in common - we are citizens of this country. We are not here as representatives of any party, NGO, or group. We must rid ourselves of Najib as prime minister.
Dr Mahathir Mohamad, on Citizen’s Declaration signed by 58 individuals last Friday
Will Barisan Nasional fall if Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak steps down? Barisan will still hold the majority of seats in the Dewan Rakyat. All that has to be done is the appointment of a new prime minister from the Barisan members of parliament, not those of the Opposition.
Mukhriz Mahathir, former Kedah Menteri Besar, insisting that it is illogical to say that the actions of former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad in inisiating Citizen’s Declaration will benefit the Opposition
Our reform agenda includes granting freedom to the press, restoring confidence in government institutions, and one of the issues discussed in the declaration is the removal of those who acted ‘in concert’ with Najib throughout this ordeal. Do not misinterpret the declaration. Stick to what has been written.
Azmin Ali, Selangor Menteri Besar
I told him, ‘I didn't come to ask you why you arrested me. I came to ask why didn't you arrest Najib’ because at the time, Najib was the Umno Youth leader. So there's nothing personal about it. The very fact that we can come together and work to save the nation is what's important now.
Lim Kit Siang, DAP advisor
Penang Hill appointment
The appointment is the chief minister’s prerogative. Right or wrong, it is for the people to judge.
The Yee Cheu, DAP’s Tanjung Bungah assemblyman, on DAP’s organising secretary Anthony Loke, who is MP for Seremban, being named a director of Penang Hill Corporation.
I was appointed as I am the DAP parliamentary spokesperson for tourism and culture. I am to contribute by speaking up on Penang tourism issues, including those at Penang Hill.
Anthony Loke, Seremban MP, defending his appointment as a director of Penang Hill Corporation
