A Pakatan Rakyat MP expressed concern that no party will be found at fault and responsible for the financial wrongdoings highlighted in the Auditor General’s Report 2013.
Pulai MP Teo Nie Ching pointed out as of last November, only a pension officer was hauled to the Session Court over charges of falsifying documents.
“There are a lot of wastages of public fund disclosed in the AG’s Report. What is the government guarantee that this will not recur again in AG’s Report 2013?” asked Teo in parliament lobby yesterday.
Teo however added that she would not be surprised if the situation remains the same.
In the AG’s Report 2013 released last Monday, a number of agencies were reprimanded for financial related matters.
Among others, the report revealed that a total of 482 equipments worth RM2.58 million in Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (HTAR), Klang and Hospital Tuanku Fauziah (HTF), Kangar were categorized as non-site equipment.
Besides that, AG also ticked off the unreasonable prices of raw food contracted to several hospital.
For example, Hospital Sultanah Aminah had signed a two-year contract (2012-2014) purchasing sea bass at RM21 a kilogram and squids at RM16 a kilogram, both RM6.50 and RM5.50 higher than market price respectively.
